The Greater Accra Police Command has dispatched a team of officers to secure the Palace of the Ga Mantse in Accra.
An opposing faction however stormed the palace to prevent the event from taking place.

Public Relations Officer of the Accra Regional Police Command, ASP Effia Tenge, says the police officers will remain at the palace till the matter is addressed.
“We had information that some thugs had taken over the Ga Matse Palace, and while efforts were underway to get them away from the palace, another opposing faction also attacked them, and a clash ensued between the two factions leading to some of them sustaining some minor injuries. However, we have taken over the control of the place.”
She said: "for now, the police have taken control of the security of the Ga Mantse until further notice. We are also engaging the authorities of the palace in a dialogue, and also to find out what led to the taking over of the Ga Mantse palace.”
