Be abreast with global dynamics of law - CJ to lawyers

Speaking at the ceremony where 59 new lawyers were called to the bar, the Chief Justice said Ghana will attract more investment if the integrity of the legal system is upheld.

“Exercise personal leadership and integrity and resolve not to be mere additions to the legal profession,” she told the new lawyers.

According to the Chief Justice, the lawyers must at all times assist the courts to dispense justice to all manner of people without fear or favour.

“To a large extent, what you will put your knowledge to will be influenced by your sense of morality or your personal ethics as shaped by acceptable societal and professional standards; the ability to choose what is right from wrong under all circumstances,” she said.

She believed that is the only way the general public would have confidence in the country's justice delivery system, following the judicial corruption scandal which was exposed by investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas.
