The police retrieved other items such as 10 knives, six lighters, a hammer, crow bar, chisel among others.
The suspected robbers were arrested on Wednesday May 17, 2017 as part of the Cape Coast police force’s crackdown on crime.
The suspects, who were arrested at Nstin, a suburb of Cape Coast, have been named as Mohammed Mustapha, 53, Emmanuel Amoah, 21, Ekow Bentil, 18, Agbovie Mensah, 22, and Ekow Ewusie, 21.
However, the Central Regional police commander, DCOP Reverend David Ampah Benin, said other suspects managed to escape into the ocean and are being pursued by the police.
“He said items retrieved from the suspects included 24 scissors, 10 knives, a hammer, crow bar, chisel, tape recorder, television, instruments used to administer narcotic drugs, 6 lighters and 27 CDs. DCOP Ampah Benin said the police also found a taxi cab with registration number, GT 5383-12, suspected to have been used by the suspects to steal goats,” the Daily Graphic reports.
