Suspect says he is a changed person

"I've changed my life, no more bad," the suspect said when he was being whisked away from the court on Tuesday by officials from the Bureau of National Investigations.
 
 

Daniel Asiedu, the suspected murderer of former Member of Parliament for the Abuakwa North constituency, JB Danquah has said he is a changed person and will no longer engage in unlawful activities.

The nineteen year old suspect was arraigned before the court after his arrest and alleged subsequent admission of the crime of stabbing the late MP at his residence in Shiashie Accra. He has been charged with murder.

Meanwhile, the court on Tuesday ordered for the removal of Daniel Asiedu from BNI custody into police custody.

The order follows submissions by the police they had almost finished with investigations and were preparing to send the docket of the case to the Attorney General's office for advice on how to proceed.

The suspect, Daniel Asiedu has complained to the court about treatment while in the BNI cell, and his lawyer Augustine Obour has been calling for a change in his custody.

Today's ruling was given in favour of the suspect despite objections by the state.
