Ambulance conveying Kintampo victims involved in accident

The accident occurred around 4am at a farming community called Gwenewoho. The ambulance with registration number GV 375-12 was carrying some victims in critical condition to the hospital in the Ashanti Region.

According to eyewitnesses the driver of the ambulance was trying to overtake a vehicle in front of him. However the driver of the ambulance hit a stationary vehicle in front of him and another vehicle behind him smashed the ambulance against the stationary car.

Eighteen (18) people have been confirmed dead in an accident at the popular Kintampo Waterfalls in the Brong Ahafo Region.

The accident occurred on Sunday, March 19 at about 4 PM while tourists were still at the falls. A tree from the top of the waterfalls fell onto the sightseers who were swimming.

Some injured victims were taken to the hospital for treatment.

Most relations of the affected victims are reportedly trooping into the Holy Family Hospital in Techiman and the Kintampo Government Hospital to identify the bodies of their deceased relations.
