The Ashanti Regional Police Command has seized a large quantity of stolen insecticide treated nets belonging to the Ghana Health Service (GHS) meant for distribution to households to fight malaria.
The stolen nets, 3,250 pieces in total were hidden in an apartment at Sabon-Zongo, a community in the Ashanti Region, Accra-based Joy FM has reported.
According to the police, the items were intercepted upon a tip-off.
A 35-year old Sidibe Hussein, a Burkinabe, is currently in Police custody over the incident.

Meanwhile, police have launched a manhunt for one Alhaji Sana, another Burkinabee believed to be the key suspect in the theft.
