37 military hospital cries for urgent help

There is shortage of drugs and other medical items needed to treat the sick at the 37 military hospital

The 37 Military hospital is in dye need of medical equipment to meet the increasing demand for health care at the facility.

The military hospital and the Police hospital are over whelmed due to the strike by the doctors in public hospitals.

There is shortage of drugs and other medical items needed to treat the sick.  The facilities also need tents to accommodate patients.

Pulse.com.gh has learnt that personnel of the hospitals are working 24 hours daily to meet the demand.

During a tour of the facility by the minister for health Alex Segbefia, Brigadier General Ralph Ametepi said "we are digging deep into our reserves; we can't sustain it any longer."

He said the hospital has serious challenges which need to be addressed immediately.

Since the strike by the doctors The 37 military hospital, the Police Hospital and faith based facilities are bearing the pressure of dealing with the huge numbers of sick people.

Minister of health Alex Segbefia told journalist" most of their demands can be met."

The minister said the red tape associated with the placement of nurses in hospitals will be cut so nurses can come and assist the 37 military and Police hospitals
