The un-posted allied health workers who have been picketing at the Health ministry were given clearance and are yet to be employed.

The coalition of un-posted allied health professionals on Monday, May 22, 2017 slept at the compound of the Ministry of Health in Accra at the mercy of mosquitoes.

The nurses kept vigil at the premises of the Ministry as part of moves to impress on government to secure financial clearance for their employment.

Deputy Health Minister Tina Mensah made the announcement on Tuesday evening that the Finance Ministry has given them the clearance.

The aggrieved nurses blamed the government of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for failing to effect clearance for their postings after the completion of their national service in August 2016.

According to the unemployed nurses, they have not been employed since they left school about two years ago and thereby making life unbearable for them.

The President of the group, Solomon Yeboah said the Deputy Minister Mrs. Tina Mensah has promised them but nothing has been heard from the ministry.

He said "This has become necessary following the 'neglect' of the promise made by the Hon. Deputy Minister [Mrs Tina Mensah] to provide us with evidence of our financial clearance with date of immediate postings on Monday, 15th May, 2017.

"We state without any equivocation that we are not leaving the Ministry of Health and shall continue to the Flagstaff House premises when necessary until we see an evidence-based satisfactory of our financial clearance.

"We plead the support of all stakeholders, security agencies, and the general public to support us in our 'fight' for justice."
