Akufo-Addo to embark on 7-day tour of Northern Ghana

President Akufo-Addo will spend two days in the Upper West region, with an inspection exercise on the Wa Water Supply Project set to be overseen by him.

President Akufo-Addo is set to embark on a seven-day tour of the three Northern Regions, beginning from Monday, October 2, 2017, to Sunday, October 8, 2017.

As part of the president's nationwide tour, which has already taken him on visits to the Western and Ashanti Regions, he will now switch his attention to that of the three Northern Regions of the country.

He will start his seven-day tour in the Upper West region, before taking to the Upper East region and eventually ending it all in the Northern region.

He is also billed to commission the said project before holding talks with the people and Chiefs of Lawra, Nandom, Sissala and Tumu, as well as the Upper West Regional House of Chiefs, in Wa.

The president will again spend two days of his tour in the Upper East region, where he is expected to visit the Chiefs in Bolgatanga, as well as also check up on the progress of the Bolgatanga Regional Hospital.

The last three days of the tour will be spent in the Northern region by the president and his entourage. Akufo-Addo will be occupied with visits to the Mamprugu land, Damango, yendi and Gonjaland.

He will hold talks with Nayiri, Naa Bohigu Abdulai Mahami Sheriga (Mamprugu land, Yagbonwura, Tuntumba Boresa I (Gonjaland) and Kampakuya Na, Yakubu Abdulai Andani II (Yendi).

The president will subsequently bring his seven-day tour of Northern Ghana to an end after  visiting some more Chiefs in the Northern Region. He will take the opportunity to interact with residents to know their plights.
