Cease fire - Nana Addo tells NPP executives

Flagbearer of the main opposition New Patriotic Party, (NPP) Nana Akufo-Addo has cautioned party executives to cease fire and the internal wrangling.

Nana Addo at a press conference said, “The finger pointing, the name calling, the insults, the lies, the denigrating of past and current leaders must stop.”

He said, "there is absolutely nothing to be gained from the internal recrimination within the NPP except to provide a fertile soil for our opponent."

The internal wrangling in NPP, according to pundits, has reached a crisis point after the party’s Upper East regional chairman,Adams Mahama died following an acid attack last week.

Fingers are already pointing at Mr. Paul Afoko and General Secretary, Kwabena Agyepong as masterminds of the murder, but the duo have denied any involvement.

Earlier, Pulse.com.gh reported that some supporters of the National Chairman, Paul Afoko, clashed with the security group guarding the party’s headquarters to protest attempts to oust him from office. Two people got injured in the process while the police stayed there to prevent further clashes.

"My first call on all party members is to cease fire," Nana Addo said.

He also advised party leaders and members to allow peace to prevail in the party.
