The committee was formed a month ago to investigate claims that the Ministry of Trade and Industry extorted money from some expatriate businesses in order for them to sit close to the President at the Ghana Expatriate Business Awards last year.

The report, which was laid to the floor of Parliament last Friday, has been grappled with some controversies on its own.

NDC Member of Parliament for Bolgatanga and member of the committee, Dr. Dominic Ayine, has accused the Chairman of the Committee of sidelining the dissenting views on some of the issues by the minority in the final report.

Dr. Ayine has therefore called on the withdrawal of the report submitted by the Chairman for the views of the minority to be incorporated.

The minority claims the organizers of the awards, the Millenium Excellence Foundation, presented forged documents to the Committee and the Ministry of Trade and Industry engaged in several ethical violations and breached various financial management laws.
