Even though no reason was given for this decision pulse.com.gh gathered that Mustapha Hamid who is currently a lecturer at the University of Cape Coast in the Central Region needs to mark and grade papers of his students.

Since he is likely to serve in the NPP government, he is also expected to use this period to hand over all university property in his possession formally to the university and initiate the processes of taking a leave from the lecture hall and other academic duties to enable him to serve in the incoming government.

He polled 17,141 votes during the general elections and is expected to be in the next Parliament which will start work on January 6, 2017.
