The wife of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS) mission president Ruth Hill has died while serving in Ghana, the church has announced.Mrs Hill passed away Sunday due to a “medical condition,” the spokesperson of the church Eric Hawkins confirmed.She had been serving in the Ghana Accra Mission with her husband, President Norman Hill. They have served together in the mission since 2013.“Sister Ruth Raelene Hill, beloved wife of President Norman C. Hill of the Ghana Accra West Mission, passed away due to a medical condition on Sunday, November 8th,” the statement read.“They are deeply loved by their family, Church leaders, and their missionaries. We pray for each of them at this difficult time and extend our love to President Hill and his family,” Hawkins said.Hill served in the LDS Church as a Primary teacher and former temple ordinance worker, stake public affairs committee member, stake Young Women president, counselor in a stake Primary presidency, ward Young Women president, ward Relief Society president, and gospel doctrine teacher.Hill was born in Ogden, to Richard Neal and Betsy Faye Ball. The Hills have five children.
