The People's National Convention candidate in the just ended Talensi by-election, Dr. Michael Wumbeogo has challenged the results of the elections.

He said he will go to court to seek nullification of the results in the by-election.

Dr. Michael Wumbeogo whogarnered 6,836 representing 27.90% of the total votes cast also accused the EC of conniving with the NDC to rig the polls.

He has consequently decided to apply to the Electoral Commission (EC) for a recount of the votes and according to him, if the EC fails to grant his request, he will contest the election results in court.

This is because, he alleges that the results "were manipulated and doctored during collation of the results" saying all we want us to be given fair results.

The General Secretary of the PNC, Mr. Bernard Mornah on his part challenged the results declared by the EC when its officials were about to declare the final results on Tuesday at the collation center in Tongo

According to him, it was clear that "consistently in every stronghold of the PNC there were a lot of rejected ballots" and called for a recount of the ballots.

"I am therefore certain that but for those irregularities at polling stations in our stronghold we would have beaten the New Patriotic Party (NPP)" he further contended.
