The Convention People's Party has issued a strongly worded statement warning the media against interviewing its interdicted officials.

A statement signed by the party's Communications Director, Issifu Kadiri Abdul Rauf, said it finds the development "disturbing", when two interdicted officers, Nii Armah Akomfrah and Ernest Kofi Yeboah, are called to speak on party matters.

"The Party finds this development very disturbing, given the fact that the status of the said officers is in abeyance, on account of ongoing disciplinary proceedings involving them," the statement said.

The statement follow comments the two interdicted officials made when Nana Gabby Nketiah was selected as the party's running mate.

Mr Rauf also warned the two officials to desist from making statements for, or on behalf of the Party, as that may undermine the Party’s Constitution.

Messrs Akomfrah and Yeboah were indicted in the wake of the Mahama Ford gift saga after they accused the president of taking a bribe.

The party's disciplinary committee cleared them of any wrongdoing but the National Executive Committee (NEC) rejected the report.

NEC ordered the disciplinary committee to sit on the case again.

Many political analysts have said the rejection of the report amounted to witch hunting.

Mr Yeboah denounced the selection of Nana Gabby Nketiah, who still holds NPP membership card, as the party's running mate.

The influential Youth League has also condemned the Mr Nketiah's selection, calling on him to renounce his NPP membership card.
