Janet Amponsah crashes out in 200m race
Ghana's last individual competitor at the IAAF championships has crashed out.

There was a lot of hope placed on the 24 year old but she came up just short after placing 4th in the Heat 5.

Amponsah looked set to make a statement in the race, after it emerged that one of the favorites, Micheal Lee Ahye, from Trinidad had been ruled out.
The sprinter made a poor start, allowing Great Britain's Dina Asher Smith and Canadian Crystal Emmanuel to move ahead of her.
And despite coming up strongly in the last 100m of the 200m, Amponsah could only finish in fourth position after being pipped to the third spot by French sprinter Estelle Rafai.
Janet Amponsah failed to break Vida Nsiah’s national record of 22.80 as she finished the race with a time of 23.77

Dina Asher Smith won the race with 22.73 with Crystal Emmanuel coming second with 22.87
Estelle Rafai who edged Amponsah to the 3rd position finished with 23.72
