I tried the Ghanaian who’s faster than Ronaldo on FIFA 18, and he’s exceptionally awful

Who wouldn't want the fastest Ghanaian in his FIFA 18 team? I did. But that is one of the very bad decisions I've made in life. And well, I've made a lot.

Well, he’s all kinds of awful in the game and you shouldn’t trust EA Sports on his numbers.

Portugal captain Cristiano Ronaldo is on the cover of FIFA 18. However, that did not stop the Canadian based company to put Ghanaian player Ernest Asante in front of him and Argentina captain Lionel Messi in terms of pace.

Asante has an overall rating of 71 as a right-winger. Irrespective, his pace rate which is 95 gives an impressive view at first sight.

Breaking it down, the Ghanaian player has an acceleration of 94 and a sprint speed of 95. His shooting, passing and dribbling rates at 61, 61 and 71 with defending and physical rating 47 and 57 respectively.

Ronaldo compares with an overall rating of 94 as a left-winger. His pace has a rating of 90 overall with a breakdown of 89 acceleration and 91 sprint speed.

With how FIFA works, you’d expect Ronaldo to be that great player who will do almost everything on the pitch with his 82 rate in passing, 90 in dribbling and 80 physical.

For Asante, however, you’d expect him to run like a mad cow towards the opponent’s goal just to under-hit his shot or just blow it over the cross bar like the neighbourhood’s wannabe footballer who has no talent. The he could do is just run, run and run.

That’s what his rating says about him. But no! You’d have to have the best of patience to even give Asante a second chance if you ever use him in FIFA 18. Yeah, he’s that poor.

I tried assembling a Black Stars squad in my FIFA 18 FUT and who wouldn’t want that Ghanaian who’s faster than Ronaldo in their team?

So, I spent hard earned 800 coins on Ernest Asante (by the way, I bought Asamoah Gyan for 500 coins so don’t even dare) and it’s the worst decision I’ve ever made since I started FUT.

Asante’s pace is nothing to write home about in the game. Gyan and Ayew have a lower pace rating and do way better than he does. His control is poor as poor can get and his shooting is a weak team’s version of Manchester United’s Bebe (those times).

Simply put, don’t look at Ernest Asante’s rate card to buy him on FIFA. You’ll be disappointed.

And ow, not everything that looks like Cristiano Ronaldo is Cristiano Ronaldo. Be warned.
