Nii Lante Vanderpuije should be blamed for the GFA’s growing unpopularity, according to Sannie Daara.
The Black Stars failed to play any friendly match during the FIFA international break, leading to numerous criticisms coming the way of the FA.
The FA explained that they could not raise enough money to play a friendly with other nations.
And Sannie Daara has fingered the former sports minister for the FA’s financial difficulties.
According to him, Nii Lante’s constant ‘demonization’ of the FA left many sponsors pulling out of deals with the association.
In an interview with Starr FM, Sannie said: “These are not good times for us. We used to have a lot of sponsors. A lot of them have pulled out. Our other sources of funding are not as glorious as they used to be.
“I will say our previous Minister did not help us. Nii Lante Vanderpuije really damaged us with the way he posited the Ghana Football Association – always seeking desperately to demonize us in all cases.

“Imagine if you’re a company and you find the Minister is at loggerheads with the body [GFA], will it be a place [you would put your money]?”
Nii Lante’s tenure as Sports Minister was characterized by bad blood between the ministry and the GFA, with their relationship reaching breaking point.
