Football legend receives brand new car as surprise gift

The 74-year-old Reverend said the car was presented to him by Prophet Emmanuel Kobi Badu, the founder of Glorious Waves Gospel Church.

"I used to walk to church but I was in church last Sunday, he called me in front, handed over the keys to me and I broke down in tears,” he recounted in an interview with Accra-based Asempa FM.

"It still feels like a dream. I came into contact with him (Prophet Badu) during the 50th anniversary celebration of Ghana’s 1965 AFCON triumph and he has received me like a father ever since."

Rev. Osei Kofi was a winner of the 1965 Africa Cup of Nations with Ghana, emerging the joint-top scorer as well as the Most Valuable Player of the tournament hosted in Tunisia.

Nicknamed the 'Wizard Dribbler', he played for both Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak in a successful career during the 1960s.
