Week 17 of the 2016/17 Ghana Premier League will go down as the worst-ever day in the history of Hearts of Oak.

The Phobians were handed the heaviest defeat in their history when they lost 5-0 to WAFA in Sogakope.

Having beaten the academy boys 2-1 at the Accra Sports Stadium in the reverse fixture, Frank Nuttal’s charges were hoping for a similar result when they traveled to the Volta Region.

However, WAFA turned on the heat and produced a performance that left the Hearts players totally mesmerized.

The Phobians were already chasing shadows by the end of the first half thanks to two goals from Majeed Ashimeru and Abdul Wahab.

The Academy boys continued to wreck havoc after the break, by adding three more goals – two from Daniel Lomotey and another from Abubakari Ibrahim.

The 5-0 drubbing in Sogakope is the worst in the history of Hearts of Oak, and the Twitter world was totally unforgiving.
