"I can play for Ghana without money"

"But as you can see, we all have family and friends who we take care of but if it even happens that the doesn't have money to pay us, we cant say no so i would be ready to play."

Anderlecht and Ghana winger Frank Acheampong has rubbished claims that the current generation of Black Stars is self-regarding.

Rumors surfaced at the 2014 World Cup that the Black Stars players threatened to skip their last group match against Portugal if their appearance fees were not paid.

But Acheampong has dismissed such claims by stating that he will still be committed even if it means playing for free.

"Why wouldn't i play for my nation when the need arises? If it comes to the point that the nation cannot pay us, i will still play because i love my nation," Acheampong told Viasat1's Football 360.
