Chelsea down Medeama at Berekum

The 2011 Ghana league champions cruised to their 3 win the ongoing league with a 1-0 win over the Tarkwa outfit.

The game was declared due to the CAF Confederation Cup campaign between Medeama and Al Ittihad of Libya two weeks ago.

In the game Berekum Chelsea broke the deadlock as early as the 7 minute through Nicholas Opoku and as everybody thought it was going to be a field day for the hosts, Medeama especially in the second half came into the game strongly dominating play, but they couldn’t find the back of the net.

The win will take Medeama to 3 place on the league log with 10 points after 5 league games.

Medeama prior to the game had a lot of internal issues to deal with due to the rift between the leadership of the club and their head coach Tom Strand.

The Swede absented himself from training, after their FA Cup elimination by Liberty and was prevented from joining the team to Berekum, so the defeat was seen coming.
