Asante Kotoko will seek revenge when they take on West African Football Academy (WAFA) in the last tie of the season.

WAFA made nonsense of the pre-season form of Asante Kotoko when they hammered them 2-0 at the Sogakope astroturf to shake them out of their complacency on the opening day of the Ghana Premier League.

Team news and match facts

Asante Kotoko ahead of the game have demoted six of their first team players to the junior over indiscipline acts.

Kotoko lost 3-5 in the midweek against AshGold, so they would enter into their clash against WAFA looking for nothing short of a victory, while WAFA would want to continue from where they left off in the midweek when they handed Berekum Chelsea 1-0 defeat.

Kotoko should win their encounter against WAFA, hoping Medeama lose at home against AshGold to finish in the top four. Whereas the best position WAFA could finish this season is likely to be fifth place, but when could surprising finish in the top four when the likes of Medeama, Hearts of Oak slip.

Head to head

The two sides have met 7 times. Kotoko have won 2, lost 3 and drawn 2 against WAFA in the league.

This season Kotoko suffered a 0-2 defeat against WAFA at Sogakope.

Last season Kotoko drew goalless against WAFA in Kumasi and lost the return fixture 0-1 at Sogakope.
