Ghanaian star supports the disabled in society

Michael Essien has taken a quest on raising money to support the disabled in the society

The Panathinaikos midfielder took to his Instagram page to explain how he teamed up with a friend to buy wheelchairs for the handicap. The former Chelsea player also charged the general public to help with the charity work writing on Instagram:

“I teamed up with my friend Apostolosto to collect these plastic bottle tops. A thousand of this PLASTIC BOTTLE TOPS buy one wheelchair for one handicap. Make sure you don’t throw yours away but you can also collect them and help someone in need. Let’s all support the disabled in our society..Thank you”

Michael Essien is in Greece for the international break. The player was not called up by Black Stars manager Avram Grant for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying games against Mozambique.
