Avintia rider Loris Baz is aiming for a successful return to MotoGP action at Aragon after a crash at the British Grand Prix ruled him out of the following race.

Baz slid out after appearing to clip Danilo Petrucci on the opening lap at Silverstone on September 4, taking Pol Espargaro with him. The race was consquently red flagged and the 23-year-old left the track in an ambulance.

The incident left the Frenchman with a foot injury that ruled him out of the San Marino Grand Prix, where Javier Fores rode in his place.

Despite still being in pain, Baz will attempt to compete in Alcaniz this weekend in a bid to boost his chances of accumulating points in the final stretch of the season.

"I'm not at my maximum, and the foot is still painful, but I think that I will be able to ride my bike and the doctors and my physiotherapist have the same opinion," he told the official Avintia website.

"I'll get the final check with the doctors at the track on Thursday and I'll take to the track on Friday and I'll see how I feel on the bike.

"Since I crashed, I've been working constantly with my physio, with a lot of work in the swimming pool to regain motion in my foot. I improve steadily, but we have to see how I feel riding the bike.

"I look forward to complete a positive weekend at Aragon and try to get some points if possible, but my goal will be to get some feeling with the bike and get into the overseas triple in the best possible shape."
