Novak Djokovic will return to Court Philippe Chatrier on Wednesday to complete his fourth-round match against Roberto Bautista Agut in the French Open after play was suspended due to rain.

Following an initial break in play due to the adverse conditions in Paris on Tuesday, Djokovic came from behind to hold a 3-6 6-4 4-1 advantage before the action was cancelled for the remainder of the day.

Having surrendered his serve for a second time in the opening set, the Serbian hit straight back courtesy of a searing forehand down the line, but his touch deserted him in the next game as a backhand drop-shot fell into the net, with Bautista Agut serving out the set.

After an interruption of almost three hours for rain, the Spaniard came under severe pressure at the start of the second, saving five break points to hold in his first two service games.

He was unable to sustain that form, and five consecutive breaks of serve enabled Djokovic to level the match by turning defence into attack on set point.

The world number one held serve at the start of the third by forcing an error with a brilliant cross-court forehand before moving into a 4-1 lead ahead of play being suspended again.

THIEM AND GRANOLLERS LEVEL, GULBIS MAKES EARLY CHARGE

Dominic Thiem took the first set 6-2 before Marcel Granollers evened things up by coming out on top in a second-set tie-break 7-2, with the third set at 0-0 when the players were hauled off.

Ernests Gulbis advanced to the fourth round following the withdrawal of Jo-Wilfried Tsonga due to an adductor injury, but he holds a 3-0 lead in the opening set over 12th seed David Goffin, while David Ferrer leads Tomas Berdych 2-1 in the only other match to have got underway.
