Six back in the day phones that made you so damn cool

You were so cool if you owned any of these phones back in the day.

Back in the day, getting any phone was a big deal. When my elder brother managed to buy a phone after Secondary School, his social status went off the roof. If you owned that oranged-lighted Siemens phone in 2003, you were the boss!

Let's remind ourselves of all the cell phones from the early 2000s we were all obsessed with, because it's true what they say: You never forget your first Nokia.

Nokia 3310

This is perhaps the most popular phone in the early 2000s. The phone sold 126 million models all over the world. We particularly remember this phone for its durability.

Ericsson T68

This was Ericsson’s first handset with a colour screen and this was another big hit in Ghana.

Siemens S45

Siemens’s first ever GPRS mobile phone with 360kb of internal memory – high at the time.

Nokia 3510(i)

The first Nokia phone to bring GPRS internet services to the mass market. That means you browse on this phone. The 3510i, pictured here, was a more advanced version with a colour screen.

LG VX6

Flip phones were all the rage. People liked them because you didn't have to open the phone to read notifications.

Motorola Razr

The Motorola Razr was, hands down, the coolest-looking phone I have ever owned. It was the future of phones back then.
