With the millions of photos that are shared every day on the site, Twitter said in a blog note that the feature will "bring creativity" to users and allow them to connect differently.

These new features will soon be available on iOS and Android, allowing users to choose from hundreds of different stickers to add to their photos to "support a cause, express an emotion or simply give style" to their photos. They can put several stickers anywhere on a picture, resize and rotate. And collections of stickers will be regularly be added, Twitter concluded in the blogpost.

When a picture including stickers is tweeted, users can click on the image which will behave in the manner of a visual hashtag. This will open a thread where users can see more pictures decorated with the same sticker.

This new editing function pictures joined many others already available such as filters, tagging or cropping. Many functions are aimed primarily at younger people who have been claimed to be put-off by the platform.

Twitter has trouble with new users. Between the 3rd and 4th quarter of 2015, the number stagnated at 320 million.
