Australian High Commissioner to Ghana, Andrew Barnes is calling on local authorities in the city of Accra to put measures in to place to address the citys unsanitary situation.
Ghana's capital, Accra is being overwhelmed by uncollected rubbish and there are serious risks to public health.
The whole city and other adjourning communities around Accra suffer from the same problem - waste collection has stopped and the rubbish is mounting up.
The unsanitary conditions in Accra, however, forced the High Commissioner to express his sentiments on Twitter.
"The scene this morning in the street near our High Commission: encourage the local authorities to step up their effort to meet the President’s promise to make the cleanest city in by 2020.
The high commissioner's tweet has received mixed reactions from Ghanaians.
