Kiki Bertens ended a four-year wait for her second WTA title as she brushed aside Mariano Duque-Marino 6-2 6-2 to claim the Nurnberger Versicherungscup.

Having battled her way through qualifying and sending top seed Roberta Vinci crashing out in round two, Bertens was rarely troubled in her first final appearance since winning in Morocco in 2012.

After a tight start to Saturday's encounter Bertens found her feet , rattling off four successive games thanks to back-to-back breaks to take the opening set.

Duque-Marino's attempts to hit back proved futile in the second as Bertens rallied to hold serve, while the Colombian continued to be put under pressure on her own service games.
