A KFC customer claimed to have found a deep fried RAT in his takeaway.

Stunned Devorise Dixon said he was tucking into a box meal in Wilmington, California, when he spotted a 'tail' on what he at first thought was a strangely-shaped breaded chicken breast.

Upon closer inspection, he said this turned out to be a deep fried rat.

KFC bosses told the Mirror an investigation found no evidence to support this claim - but did not confirm what the piece of food was.
