A businessman from Asebi, near Doryumu in the Shai-Osudoku District in the Greater Accra Region, has appeared before the Dodowa Magistrate Court for allegedly defiling a 13-year-old pupil.

Emmanuel Teye, aka Emma, pleaded not guilty to two counts of defilement and having carnal knowledge of the victim, The Daily Graphic reports.

According to the prosecutor, Sergeant Saviour Ashiagbor, the victim was on November 9, 2016, sent to a nearby village by her parents at around 8 p.m.

On her way back home, Teye offered to give the girl a lift home and she agreed.

He, however, stopped on the way home and sexually assaulted the girl in the car.

The prosecutor said after satisfying his lust, Teye abandoned the girl to her fate.
