Dhammika Prasad remains an injury concern ahead of the first Test against England next week after a scan on the Sri Lanka fast bowler's shoulder was "inconclusive".

The 32-year-old quick sustained the injury during Sri Lanka's opening tour match against Essex at Chelmsford on Monday.

Prasad was unable to complete his 18th over of a rain-affected game which ended in a draw on Tuesday and will not play in the tour match against Leicestershire, which starts on Friday.

The experienced paceman has not yet discovered the extent of the damage and it remains to be seen if he will recover in time to return when the three-match series starts at Headingley next Thursday.
