Rapper to make 1st public appearance since father’s death

Nigerian rapper Olamide whose father passed away on November 26 will be making his first public appearance on Friday, December 4.

Olamide will be performing at the ‘’ event at the Aztec-Arcum stadium in Port Harcourt. Phyno, who released a joint album with Olamide in April, will also be performing at the event.

Upon his father's death Olamide prayed for him and wrote a farewell message also.

"O God, who hast commanded us to honor our father and our mother; in Thy mercy have pity on the soul of my father, and forgive his trespasses; and make me to see him again in the joy of everlasting brightness. Through Christ our Lord. Amen. Rest well Dad.. Forever in my heart" he wrote.

Olamide’s fifth solo studio album ‘’ was released three days before his father’s death was announced.

'Eyan Mayweather' contains 20 tracks, with four singles from the project earlier released. They include ‘Bobo’, ‘Matters Arising’, ‘Melo melo’, and ‘Lagos Boys’.

Production of the work comes chiefly from in-house music maker, Pheelz, with support from B Banks, ID Cabasa, and Young Jonn. Cameroon's Stanley ENow says he would like to work with the rapper. See Pulse TV video for more on that.
