Vicaut was injured running in the Oslo Diamond League meet on Thursday leaving a question mark over his participation at the worlds in London from August 4.

"The rest of my season is compromised. My doctor is not an alarmist but it really is too early to give a date for my return," 25-year-old Vicaut wrote on Facebook.

"For now, I will take care of myself to regain a good physical condition."
