5,000 jobs created in oil and gas sector - Minister

He made the comments at a sod-cutting ceremony for commencement of construction of an Onshore Gas Receiving Facility by ENI, the Italian oil company and its partners executing the Offshore Cape Three Points Integrated Oil and Gas Project (OCTP).

The Minister of Petroleum, Emmanuel Armah Kofi Buah, has disclosed that about 5,000 jobs have been created in the oil and gas sector.

According to him, international oil companies have been complying with the country's local content laws hence the created jobs.

Additionally, ongoing constructions work in the sector, incentives to investors, consolidation of gains made, proper laws and value creation have all contributed to job creation.

Speaking directly to residents in the Western Region, the minister asked them to be excited because of the on going projects around them.
