Supreme Court Justice, William Atuguba, has tasked members of the country’s judiciary to ensure professionalism at all times in the course of their duties.
Speaking at the opening of the 2015/2016 legal year, Justice Atuguba asked judicial service members to mend their ways.
“Let us open up a new era in our judiciary so that corruption and all the shades cannot have an influence. This applies to all participants in the justice delivery. In sounding this caution, I am not passing judgement on anybody since what has engulfed us is still subject to determination by the appropriate authorities,” Justice Atuguba added.
In Anas' recent investigative piece, over 30 judges and magistrates were captured on camera allegedly receiving bribes to pervert justice.
Some judges who were cited in the judicial corruption scandal have so far been suspended by the Judicial Council.
