Through the many Marvel movies and comics, we all know the deal: Thor has a hammer (called the Mjolnir) which only he can pick up or use. To almost everyone else, even those theoretically stronger than Thor, it is impossibly heavy to lift, much less wield.
In an attempt to bring that concept to life, someone has a built a real life Mjolnir, and only its owner can lift it.
Wondering how? Magnets! Although it is not at all obvious at first glance, there is a fingerprint scanner in the hammer’s handle wired to an Arduino Mini, a very big battery pack, and a powerful electromagnet.

Place the faux-Mjolnir on anything magnetic, a big metal plate in the ground for example, and it locks in place.
When the previously mentioned fingerprint sensor detects its creator’s prints, the magnet releases and the Mjolnir can then be lifted. Otherwise, it will remain immovable.
