You can now mark messages as unread

All you need to do is tap and hold the conversation and the app will add a little green spot to show the message as ‘unread’.

WhatsApp is finally letting users mark their messages as ‘unread’.

All you need to do is tap and hold the conversation and the app will add a little green spot to show the message as ‘unread’. This makes it easier to work out who you have replied to and who you haven’t.

Unfortunately, the read message status inside the message will remain unaffected so there’s no pretending you haven’t read it yet.

The update will also allow you mute conversations for up to eight hours, a week or even a year.
