The deceased identified only as Victoria was reportedly travelling alone from Koforidua to Aflao when she was found dead in the car.
The car was not involved in any accident of any kind to result in any injury, let alone death, but Victoria, believed to be a Togolese, could not reach her destination alive.
A witness told the Ghana News Agency that the car in question took off from the Koforidua station and made a brief stopover at the transportation company’s Sokode-Lokoe terminal, near the Ho Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) office, at about 0750 hours.
Apparently, due to the distance of journey being embarked on, some passengers slept off as usual.

However, when the passenger next to the deceased awakened he realised that the posture of the deceased was abnormal, and he tried to wake her up, but she was unresponsive.
Upon a closer examination, he was discovered foam spilling from her mouth, and drew the attention of other passengers onboard.
It is reported that the bus made an emergency stop, and with the help of other passengers, the deceased was rushed to the St. Anthony’s Mission Hospital at Dzodze, but Victoria was pronounced dead on arrival.
Donations made by compassionate passengers totalling GH¢200.00 which was meant to take care of her hospital bill in case she survived was given to staff of the hospital to partly defray the mortuary bill.
Disturbed passengers made random calls to contacts on her phone and fortunately got in touch with some of her families and informed them about the incident.
Although MMTL and the hospital confirmed the story to the GNA, it reported the police in Dzodze as saying the incident had not come to their attention.
