Ghanaians are being asked to expect more rains from June to July this year.

The Assistant Meteorologist at the Ghana Meteorological Agency, Frederick Otu Larbi, disclosed this on Tuesday following several hours of rainfall the previous day.

According to him, forecasts indicate an amount of rainfall above average

“Expect more rainfall coming in in the morning for those of us in the south.”

“For the north, the rains can be heavy and come with strong winds [that] could cause damage to property and life,” he told Accra-based Joy FM.

Monday’s heavy downpour flooded several areas in Accra with Tema Community 18 being severely affected.

Some residents were forced to evacuate from their homes as a result.
