2 reported dead in galamsey pit collapse

Two people are reported dead after a galamsey pit collapsed on them at Nasaewdoso in the Wassa East District of the Western Region.

The incident happened Monday evening when the miners were operating in it, Starrfmonline.com reports.

Three of the miners managed to escape and are receiving treatment at a clinic in the district after receiving some injuries.

The galamsey pit collapse happens to the fourth incident within few weeks.

It will be recalled that a similar incident occurred at Prestea Asante Akyem Central Municipality in the Ashanti Region and Wassa Nananko in the Western Region recently.
