Pablo Cuevas beat Pablo Carreno-Busta in straight sets to defend his Brasil Open title and win his second tournament in a row.
Cuevas was crowned Rio Open champion last Sunday and followed that up with another triumph in Sao Paulo seven days later, as Carreno-Busta was beaten 7-6 (7-4) 6-4 in his first ATP World Tour final.
World number 27 Cuevas needed just three breaks of serve to secure another victory, with Carreno-Busta only able to grasp one of his two break-point opportunities in the match.
Five double faults from Cuevas did not prove to be costly as the in-form Uruguayan produced an otherwise solid service display on clay to frustrate his Spanish opponent.

The first set, in which there were no break points earned, was decided by a tie-break and it was Cuevas who held his nerve after going a mini-break down.
Carreno-Busta found himself 5-1 down in the second and showed fight to win the next two games, but Cuevas needed only one championship point to seal victory.
