11 perish in Nkawkaw accident

Eleven persons have died with several others injured in an accident which occurred on Saturday morning, June 4, 2016, at Abepotia, near Nkawkaw, on the Accra-Kumasi highway.

Police say at about 5:30am on Saturday, the driver of a 42-seater Neoplan bus on which the victims were travelling, lost control after hitting a speed ramp, and run into a stationary fuel tanker in the process.

Three persons died on the spot with eight others passing away at the hospital.

Nine persons who are in critical condition have so far been referred to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) in Kumasi.
