French gymnast Samir Ait Said suffered a shocking broken leg while performing on the vault at the Olympic Games on Saturday.

The 26-year-old's lower left leg snapped upon landing, with his foot left dangling as he lay on the floor in agony.

Said, who was taking part in the men's artistic qualification event, was carried away by medical staff at the Rio Olympic Arena after sustaining the gruesome injury on day one of the Games.
