A man suspected to be a homosexual has been arrested at Nkawkaw in the Eastern region for allegedly attempting to sodomize a young man in the area.
The victim, Yaw Ansoh said the gay man [name withheld] proposed to him and offered to pay GHC 100 for sexual intercourse.
In an interview with Adom News, Ansoh said “I agreed and met him at an obscure place in the community but the moment he undressed, I panicked and took to my heels.”
He then raised an alarm in the area leading to the citizen's arrest of the suspect. They later handed him over to the Nkawkaw District police station.
The District police commander, DSP Gyabeng Manu said they detained the suspect for his own safety because an angry mob wanted to lynch him.
He added that the man has been granted bail but investigation is still ongoing.
