Boxer Nick Blackwell has expressed his gratitude for the support he has received and revealed he is making progress on a daily basis after awaking from a medically-induced coma.

The 25-year-old collapsed in the ring after being stopped in the 10th round of his British middleweight title fight against Chris Eubank Jr last month.

Blackwell suffered a bleed on the skull, but there was positive news when his promoters Hennessy Sports released a statement confirming he had regained consciousness.

The boxer's brother, Dan, has now posted a message on Facebook on behalf of the former champion.
