Football stars arrive for peace match

The Vodafone-sponsored match, put together by Primeval Media Consult, is expected to be replicated with a clash between the world team against the 2006 Black Stars World Cup team at the Accra Stadium on Saturday.

Current and former footballers have arrived in Ghana for the Vodafone Unity Match 2016 games between Asante Kotoko and the Ghana Black Stars on June 8 and 11 at the Kumasi and Accra Sports Stadia respectively.

The team led by former England and Arsenal defender, Sol Campbell also saw the arrival of Dutch legend Edgar Davids, Manchester United legend Dwight Yorke, Liverpool Great Emile Heskey, Cameroun International Alex Song, Ghanaian-born and ex-Dutch international George Boateng and former Chelsea and Arsenal defender William Gallas.

Former Black Stars captain Stephen Appiah will lead the international stars in a World XI side to play Asante Kotoko on Wednesday at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
