<h1>Friends of a young female soldier who died in a ghastly motor accident in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, a day to her birthday, have remained inconsolable as they mourn her on the social media.</h1>

The deceased identified as Salo Roseline Tamarabrakemi was reportedly involved in an accident on Tuesday, October 10, 2017, when she went to buy items she wanted to use to mark her birthday the next day.

According to her friends, Tamarabrakemi was heading for her destination on a commercial motorcycle when a vehicle rammed into the Okada, killing her instantly.

Some hours before her tragic death, Tamarabrakemi had taken to Facebook to share her excitement as she prepared to celebrate her birthday, not knowing she would not live to mark the day.

"Can't wait ooo; 2moro is d birthday of someone special &amp; d one dat I don't joke wit. My very own..........

Hmmmm, I see u'r anxious 2 know wu bt jst wait &amp; c wu dat special person could b," she had posted.

But her friends were shocked to discover that she had lost her life shortly after she made the post.

One of her friends, who is also a soldier, Akuboere Lugardowortimi, shared the information of Tamarabrakemi's death and since then, friends and others have been commenting on the tragic incident.

"She was heading to Elele Market in Ikwere Local Government Area of Rivers State, when she got involved in a car accident.

<h1>Nigerians have been reacting angrily to a disturbing video making the rounds on the Internet of a group of Indian men tying a Nigerian man to a pole and torturing him almost to the point of death after accusing him of stealing.</h1>

According to NDTV India, one of the most reliable media outfits in Asia, the Nigerian man was framed up for theft in Delhi and the men decided to brutalize him by tying him up and beating him mercilessly.

The report which was done in Hindu but later translated on the website of the NDTV India had it that the Nigerian man who was falsely accused of stealing and was brutalized by the Indian mob who allegedly wanted to steal his money.

The man had been accused of theft and drugs before he was assaulted by a crowd. The incident allegedly took place over two weeks ago in Malviya Nagar in south Delhi.'

Following the emergence of a new video exposing the lies told about the Nigerian man, the police have waded into the matter.'

However, other reports say otherwise as another online post reads:

"The footage caught by the channel was made after the man was allegedly caught trying to rob a house in Malviya Nagar in south Delhi, which has a lot of African students.

After the brutal assault, he was arrested and jailed but the perpetrators of his torture remain at large. He was allegedly caught in the early hours of September 24, inside the house of one

By the time he was handed over to the police the same day, he was wounded and barely conscious. People in the neighbourhood allegedly told the police that he was hurt when he fell down the stairs while trying to escape.

But the video that NDTV found exposes the collective lie. In the mobile phone video, the Nigerian national is seen with his feet tied to a lamp post, begging for mercy as his attackers keep hitting him with sticks.

Voices in the background can be heard egging on the mob and saying:

“Get red chilly. Beat him harder. One man held his feet and aims hard on the sole with a stick.

'Forgive me,' the Nigerian national kept crying out, his hands folded, but his pleas did not move his attackers, who keep slapping him and demanding to know whether he has any hidden money. In one clip, he is upright, tied to a lamp post and in his underwear.

He was taken to the police in that state, with injuries to his head, face, limbs, and back. The police say after he was treated in a hospital, he was produced before a judge who sent him to jail.

But no one knew until the video emerged that he had been assaulted. The police say action will be taken against the attackers based on the video."

This is not the first time Nigerians have been targeted and attacked by their hosts in India and other Asian countries. On March 27, some Nigerian students and other Africans were victims of a mob attack by Indian men who suspected they suplied drugs to a local teenager.

The incident took place in the Greater Noida in the north of New Delhi when local residents attacked the Africans with sticks and metal chairs following the death of the teenager from a suspected drug overdose.

Indian Times reported then that around a dozen people were wounded in the violence.

The source who spoke on the attempts the billionaire kidnap suspect made to escape said Evans offered the sum of $50,000 at first to one of the security guards manning his cell but when he was turned down, he increased the money to $100,000.

It was gathered that Evans was allegedly coordinating his escape bid with some members of his gang by telephone which he managed to sneak into his cell not knowing that he was being monitored closely.

It was learned that intelligence officers and Inspector General of Police Special Tactical Squad detected his plot before he could carry them out.

"When Evans was in our custody, he tried to escape but we were able to abort all his plans. We discovered that he had access to phones which were hidden in the middle of loaves of bread, eba, semovita and so on.

He was making calls from these smuggled phones in the middle of the night, making arrangements with some yet to be identified members of his gang to arrange for his escape.

We intercepted how he was luring one of the guards with about  $50,000 to $100,000. He wanted an insider to serve as an informant to him and members of his gang,” the source who is a member of the IGP team said.

Recall that Evans who was unarguably Nigeria's biggest high profile kidnapper, was arrested on June 10, 2017, at his residence on No. 3, Fred Shoboyede, Magodo, Lagos, and is currently is standing trial before an Ikeja High Court for alleged conspiracy and kidnapping alongside five other members of his gang.

A police source has revealed that the notorious kidnap suspect tried to offer a huge sum of money to security officials to escape from detention.

There have been different angles emanating after a 29-year-old lady, Biodun Ilerioluwa allegedly cut off the tongue of one of her neighbours, Babangida Sulayman at their resident on Alhaji Abass Street, Ogudu, Lagos State.

The incident which happened on the night of Thursday, October 5, 2017, has turned into a theatre of the absurd following insinuations that Ilerioluwa was actually having a secret affair with the 23-year-old Sulayman and bit off his tongue while they were kissing.

It was gathered that the two of them were so close that many read meanings into their relationship despite their age difference.

The duo, it was learned, had enjoyed a mutual relationship for about two years they had an issue in March 2017, when Sulayman's mother asked him to quit the friendship after a disagreement broke out between them.

Following his mother's advice, Sulayman, a barber, was said to have stopped relating with Ilerioluwa and kept her at arm's length.

Not comfortable with the situation, the suspect who has since been arrested and remanded in prison custody, reportedly approached the victim for reconciliation about two weeks ago, and pleaded with him to resume his role as her errand boy which he rejected.

The strained relationship between Ilerioluwa who is still single, reportedly assumed a new dimension around 8 pm on Tuesday, October 3, when they met at the shop of a woman in the area and she was said to have rebuked Sulayman which prompted the shop owner to ask him what went wrong.

Narrating what happened on the night he was attacked, Sulayman said he had gone to the toilet around 11.30 pm to urinate and was about to leave the restroom when Ilerioluwa allegedly sneaked in, squeezed his neck and forced him to open his mouth and used a knife to cut part of his tongue.

The victim’s mother who is the landlady of the building, Hassanat Ali, said she was asleep when Olumide Agbolade, raised the alarm.

“They [Ilerioluwa and Sulayman] related with each other like siblings. She used to send him on errands as far as Ikeja and they used to go out together.

I had warned him to stay away from her six months ago when they had a disagreement and she called him an ingrate. I saw them together three days before the incident happened and I warned him again.

I was sleeping when Olumide banged at our door, calling , Babangida’s elder brother, to come and see what Biodun did to Babangida.

By the time we got to the toilet, there was blood everywhere. My son could not talk. I saw the severed tongue, while the jewelry Biodun wore was covered with blood. I asked her what happened, but she did not say anything.

People rushed into our building and started beating her. I cautioned them and she was handed over to the police.

Three different hospitals rejected Babangida before he was eventually admitted to the Lagos State Teaching Hospital, Ikeja.”

One of the Babangida’s brothers, Yahaya Sulayman, said the Investigating Police Officer in charge of the case visited the victim at the hospital to obtain his statement, alleging that the IPO later altered the statement and claimed that Ilerioluwa injured his brother while he was kissing her.

“I am not living with the family. I got a call about the incident and rushed to the hospital. I met Olumide there and asked him what transpired.

He said he wanted to urinate when he heard Babangida screaming and on getting into the toilet, he was bleeding from the mouth. Doctors said they could not attach the severed tongue.

A policeman came to the hospital to obtain his statement. He could not talk. He gave him a pen and paper and he narrated what happened in writing.

We were surprised when we learned that the IPO was saying he wanted to kiss her. Biodun’s family was pushing for settlement through the police.

They brought a document for us to sign and offered us N30,000, but we rejected it. The DPO directed that she should be charged to court.”

The victim who is still on admission managed to speak on the incident from his hospital bed.

“We were very close and she always told me that she liked me. But we never had any amorous relationship. She introduced me to her friends and boyfriends. She used to complain that I only liked her friends’ pictures on Instagram.

On Tuesday evening, we met at a shop on our street. She told the shop owner that I misbehaved and I told the woman to ask her what I did. I later told the woman that I would tell her what happened the following day.

I was with Olumide and some residents outside that night, chatting. We stayed late outside because there was a power outage. Around 11.30 pm, I left them and went to the toilet to urinate.

The State Police Public Relations [PPRO], ASP Olarinde Famous-Cole, confirmed the assault and arrest of the suspect, adding that she had been charged to court and remanded in prison custody following the adjournment of the case till October 18.

News Agency of Nigeria [NAN] reports that Dashit, a staff of the National Industrial Court, Jos, <a href="http://www.pulse.ng/gist/man-murders-girlfriend-has-sex-with-corpse-id6220646.html" id="a28715bb-3bb5-5759-bbf1-a9c663565dca">strangled his wife,</a> a 33-year-old school teacher in their farm on June 2, 2017, following a series of domestic violence arising from his sexual relationships with the maid identified as Nora.

It was gathered that Dashit who resides at New Abuja area of Jos, was fond of sleeping with the maid and had been caught by the wife on more than three occasions and whenever the deceased insisting on the girl leaving the house, Dashit would descend on her and beat her mercilessly.

Confirming the incident and the arrest of the suspect, the spokesman of the Command, ASP Terna Tyopev said Dashit lured the woman to the farm and strangled her to death and tried to cover up the act by telling people she had collapsed.

Tyopev said that after killing his wife, Dashit invited his brother to help him to convey her to the hospital having lied to his brother that she slumped few minutes after she complained of feeling dizzy.

A family source said that prior to the incident, the couple had faced lots of problems leading to persistent domestic violence.

The situation, it was learned, got worse in May 2016 when the deceased caught her husband in bed with their house help in their home.

“Victor is in our custody and investigation is on-going. We shall soon take him to court. During police investigations, it was realized that the couple had been having issues for a while due to his infidelity.

We gathered that the deceased woke up one night sometime in May 2016 and did not see her husband on the bed.

After combing the entire house, she peeped into the house help's room and found her husband on top of her.”

It at that point that Irene sent the girl out of the house but the girl came back two months later and told the husband that she was pregnant.

“Nora’s pregnancy aggravated the problems in their marriage; at a point, Irene fled to her parents’ house in Gindiri, Mangu Local Government Area but was persuaded to return to her husband’s house by their Pastor.

The Pastor persuaded her to return in November 2016, after intervening in the quarrel. She became pregnant immediately.”

A family source said that the late Irene had two daughters, while the baby, a male, removed from her womb after she died, did not survive.

A source at the Air Force Military Hospital, Jos, where Irene’s corpse was taken, said that Dashit who brought the wife on June 2, had claimed that she slumped and died after complaining of dizziness.

“The doctors confirmed her dead on arrival but rushed her to the theater for an emergency CS in a bid to save her unborn baby but brought out a dead child,” the hospital source said.

Further investigation by the medics, however, revealed marks on her neck, which suggested that she was strangled.

“The doctors quickly reported the matter at the Anglo Jos police station where Dashit owned up to strangling his wife,” the source added.

Tyopev, while describing the incident as quite unfortunate, blamed the development on the alleged infidelity of the husband, saying that Dashit had equally confessed to impregnating his housemaid.

“He confessed to holding the woman by the neck, but said he did not intend to kill her,” Tyopev said.

Evans had averred that his fundamental human rights have been infringed upon by his continuous detention without being charged to a court if the police had any case against him.

According to a report by Vanguard, Evans's father, in supporting his son's suit, also filed the 27 paragraph affidavit saying that the police had not treated his son fairly and had presented him to <a href="http://www.pulse.ng/gist/how-i-was-able-to-escape-from-police-for-so-long-id6824432.html" id="3b15781b-021a-5880-b7cf-c05dec400bd9">the whole world as a criminal.</a>

In the affidavit, the Nnewi, Anambra State-born businessman argued that his son had been subjected to media trial instead of being tried in a competent court of jurisdiction, thereby passing him to the public as a criminal.

He stated that Evans had not been granted a fair hearing in any court and is now being judged by the reports published by the media while members of his family have been denied access to him since his arrest.

The incident which was captured on video, saw the Nigerian man being dragged out of the train by the inspectors after he reportedly refused to provide his ID and pay a fine for not having a ticket.

In the video, the Nigerian could be seen vehemently clinging on metal handrails, as the two inspectors in uniform battled to get him out of the suburban S-Bahn train which was heading to the Munich city center from the airport.

While one of the inspectors tried to remove the man’s hands from the handrails, the other one is seen <a href="http://www.pulse.ng/gist/mobs-in-greater-noida-india-attacked-nigerian-students-id6519374.html" id="d9229bfa-a0a3-5f94-be3a-8976f20c62b4">grabbing the man’s neck </a>as he leans back towards the doors.

As the scene unfolds, a woman filming the struggle is heard telling the inspectors:

“It’s absolutely not okay what you’re doing; that guy didn’t do anything to you. You should be ashamed of yourself, this is racism what you’re doing.

Why are you doing this? He paid for his ticket.”

As the woman continues filming the incident, someone tried in vain to stop her but she insisted on capturing the disgraceful scene.

The two ticket inspectors eventually managed to get the man said to be 48-year-old, out on the platform and bring him to the ground, pressing his face against the asphalt, as the woman yells that the men in uniform were doing it 'because he’s black.'

The man was reportedly removed from the train at Leuchtenbergring station. He, however, appeared to have no valid ticket as the inspectors came up to him during the check.

They then asked him to show an ID card and pay a $68 fine for not having the correct ticket but the man who was apparently short on cash told the inspectors that all he had was for his food.

The inspectors were said to have collected the €9, saying he still owed the rest and insisted he must pay up the remainder of the fine.

Punch reports that the suspect was angry because the female classmate had beaten him to the first position in the first and second term examinations in the school.

The incident, according to reports, happened around 1.30 pm on Wednesday, June 14, 2017, while the school was preparing for the third term exams.

The envious pupil had allegedly sneaked into the school's laboratory and stole the acid and the ethanol which he mixed together and poured the dangerous chemical into the water bottle of the unsuspecting pupil.

But luck ran out on the boy when two students of the school caught him while <a href="http://www.pulse.ng/gist/kenyan-woman-pours-acid-on-daughter-in-law-leaves-her-to-rot-id6289678.html" id="ed0bdbe0-9aba-58f9-a703-a6d4662a8243">carrying out the deadly mission </a>and promptly reported him to the school management.

When the suspect was summoned by the school authourity, he owned up to the crime, saying he had been planning it for some time.

A member of the 11-year-old’s family said that despite the culprit’s confession, the school allowed him to sit for the third term examination.

When an official of the school management was contacted, she confirmed the incident and said that the young thug had been expelled from the school.

The official who pleaded anonymity said:

“The boy has been expelled with immediate effect. The girl is in school and she is fine. We have zero tolerance for such misbehavior.”

However, many believe that expelling the boy from the school should not be the only action the school should take as he should be handed over to authourities so that he could be treated for psychological issues as well as remanded in a boy's home.

A statement by a member of the media team of Prophet Akinbodunse said:

'It was reported that the woman had never experienced any sign of labour during her pregnancy but went into labour after she approached the prophet during the program.

After offering serious prayers on the woman, she was reportedly rushed to a nearby hospital where she allegedly gave birth to a catfish rather than a human being.

Further reports state that the woman had been praying to God for the fruit of the womb when she visited a church and was told to pay an equivalent of N1 million for her to be able to get pregnant.'

Ogungbeje, the head of Lawflex Chambers and the Chairman of Voice Vanguard, made the headlines when he filed a fundamental rights suit on behalf of Evans, dragging the Inspector General of Police, and others before a Federal High Court in Lagos, <a href="http://www.pulse.ng/gist/my-arrest-was-a-surprise-billionaire-kidnap-kingpin-evans-id6821683.html" id="0badae41-5aa5-5efc-a2cd-ea2f5c9a3fb0">over the suspect's alleged illegal detention.</a>

Joined as respondents in the suit are the Nigeria Police Force, Commissioner of Police Lagos State, and the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, Lagos State Police Command.

In the suit, Evans who has somehow become a celebrity following the media attention on him since his arrest on June 10, 2017, is seeking a court order directing the respondents to immediately charge him to court if there is any case against him.

On the alternative, he is seeking an order compelling the respondents to immediately release him unconditionally in the absence of any offense warranting a charged.

In the suit marked, FHC/L/CS/1012/2017, Evans is contending that his continued detention by the respondents since June 10, without a charge, or release on bail is an infringement on his fundamental rights.

However, those who know about Ogungbeje say he is a lover of unpopular cases and had been involved in controversial cases in recent times.
