A teenage writer and director took home the top prize at the Tribeca Film Festival for his tale of an alcoholic preacher in rural Louisiana, festival organizers announced Thursday.
NEW YORK — Director Martin Scorsese and his frequent star Robert De Niro shared a few small details about their forthcoming film, “The Irishman,” as part of a wide-ranging discussion Sunday at the Beacon Theater in New York, where audience members were surprised to learn that Leonardo DiCaprio was in their midst.
Chadwick Boseman, speaking for the “Black Panther” cast, which took the SAG equivalent of best picture, said that he was often asked if he expected the Marvel superhero film to be such a blockbuster.
Other major winners included “This Is Us,” outstanding drama series ensemble, and among film nominees, Rami Malek, best actor for “Bohemian Rhapsody,” and Glenn Close, best actress for “The Wife.”
